In light of recent events, Gates Volunteer Ambulance has sent several members to be trained to teach “Stop the Bleed.”  This is a class brought to us by the American College of Surgeons, The Committee on Trauma and brought locally by URMC Kessler Burn and Trauma.  This course is designed to teach you, the public and bystanders, how to make an immense difference in saving people’s lives at a mass casualty event.  You are the ones who are going to make the biggest difference in saving lives!

Gates Volunteer Ambulance is offering this training, free of charge, to the public.  Please follow this link in order to enroll in a training session, more training opportunities will be posted in the near future.  For any questions please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. Welcome to the online home of Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc. Our agency provides emergency medical service and transportation to the residents of Gates, Ogden, Spencerport and Parma New York. With a membership of approximately 216 trained, professional responders, we're ready to answer your call for help.

But we're more than just emergency transportation. We understand that the key to being healthy is keeping each other safe in the first place. That’s why we offer many prevention services for our residents, including a weekly blood pressure clinic and one of the first child safety seat checks in the area.

After answering nearly 7,500 calls for help each year, chances are you or someone you know have met the professionals of GVAS.
